Vision and Ethos

Our Vision and Values

Welcome to Elaine Primary School

Elaine is a proud member of the Inspire Partnership Academy Trust, serving our vibrant community with an unwavering commitment to equity and social justice. We are a values-led school where staff model the mutual respect, relational warmth, and high expectations we want to cultivate in our pupils.

Our vision is to transform the future for our children through deep partnership, collaboration, and relational care. We believe that by working together, we can establish a safe, inclusive, and ambitious environment where excellence is the norm. We place our children at the heart of everything we do, empowering every child with the self-belief, critical thinking, and communication skills needed to reach their highest potential.

Our Values

Our school values form the acronym ELAINE and underpin every aspect of our work, interactions, and behaviour:

  • Excellence: Striving for our very best in all that we do.
  • Love: Showing unconditional care, warmth, and compassion.
  • Aspiration: Nurturing high expectations and a boundless belief in what is possible.
  • Individuality: Celebrating and valuing what makes every person unique.
  • Nurture: Supporting emotional regulation, wellbeing, and growth.
  • Engagement: Creating inspiring, real-world learning opportunities that spark curiosity.

Conversations about learning and behaviour in our school always reflect and refer back to these core values.

Securing Strong Foundations

We know that providing the best possible start in life is essential for lifelong success. This is why we place great emphasis on ensuring children feel secure, happy, and valued from day one in our Nursery and Reception settings.

Our early years curriculum focusses relentlessly on securing strong foundations in language, communication, and early reading. Every transition—from nursery to reception, through infants, and into juniors—is meticulously planned using transition handovers that capture each child’s unique physical, social, and emotional needs, ensuring smooth, supportive progression.

Pupil Voice and Leadership

We explicitly teach our children to be active citizens who take responsibility for their learning, actions, and community. We invest in a culture where pupil voice flourishes. Throughout their time with us, children have meaningful opportunities to shape their school through:

  • The Junior Leadership Team (JLT): Empowering pupil leaders to present ideas, lead assemblies, and drive school-improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborative Learning Projects: Working alongside peers to solve complex, real-world problems.

How We Achieve This

  • Creating an Attachment and Trauma-Informed Environment: Providing safe, structured, and predictable spaces where emotional regulation is taught explicitly through the Zones of Regulation.
  • Working in Relational Partnership with Families: Operationalising parents as true co-educators, sharing practical strategies to support learning both at school and at home.
  • Delivering an Ambitious, Global Curriculum: Teaching a broad, balanced, and carefully sequenced curriculum that prioritises reading and equips children with rich vocabulary and critical thinking tools.
  • Removing Barriers through Inclusive Practice: Ensuring every child accesses high-quality adaptive teaching and timely support, tailored to individual needs, so that starting points do not limit potential.
  • Promoting Exceptional Attendance: Fostering the absolute belief that every day counts, working closely with families to target statutory attendance over 95%.
  • Encouraging Resilience and Compassion: Helping children understand that difficulties can be overcome, teaching them to listen respectfully to diverse viewpoints, and inspiring them to act as active global citizens
